Caught up in the excitement, I bought a ticket to Las Vegas before I realized that I’d be missing my son’s second birthday on March 8. I sat uncomfortably on the fence about whether or not to go for almost two months, but my wife and I both new how important it was for me to connect face-to-face with many of the contacts that I had made over the past few years. This was my first trip to the WPPI convention, and it was nothing short of a life-changing experience. I made so many close friends in the whirlwind blur that was my trip. Below, you’ll find some of the friends, colleagues and mentors that I had the pleasure and honor of getting to know. These are my people, and I love them dearly — you know who you are.
I managed to squeeze in a portrait session with a beautiful couple by Red Rocks outside of Las Vegas, thanks to my good friend Shira Weinberger. I’ll be posting those photos next week :)
I am so grateful for my expecting wife, Jenny, for mustering the courage to send me away on a four-day trip while struggling with morning (all-day) sickness; and for Justin, who seems to have grown into a little man while I was away. I love, I love, I love you.
(Two of the photos below were taken by my good friend Daniel Kudish of Davina + Daniel. I wonder if anyone can guess which two? Answers will be posted in the comments soon! Oh, and the group shot of us at Wolfgang Puck was graciously taken by Brianna Phelan of Last Forty Percent.)
