These two have become very close to my family, much like an aunt and uncle to our son, Justin. Their wedding day was an epic one filled with such love, laughter and tears. They took part in two very intimate tea ceremonies in the presence of their closest family members — I felt very humbled to be present. Then we partied into the night at the Bellevue Hyatt.

Had the pleasure of second shooting again for my good friend, Kevin Wrenn.

Bren is a gifted double bassist with refined musical taste, as evidenced by the jazz band featuring Seattle jazz legend Clarence Acox on drums. Their rendition of Etta James’ ‘At Last’ gave me chills in the middle of the reception. Shortly after this wedding, Clarence led the Garfield High Jazz Ensemble to first place at New York’s Essentially Ellington National Jazz Band Competition and Festival at NYC’s Lincoln Center.

Sarah and Kisung have become wonderful friends since we first met last spring. They are so full of heart and sincerity, and they’ve become an aunt and uncle to Justin. We had dinner with them a few weeks ago and they told us that they were expecting a baby this summer — we, in turn, informed them that we were expecting a baby this autumn! We are surrounded by so much love — we have five dear sets of friends that are all expecting this year, a few of which are due as early as next week! :)

I’m going to wear my heart on my sleeve a bit — I teared up more than once while I was putting this album together, especially through the ceremony photos. Hopeless romantic here.

Their wedding was at the beautiful Salish Lodge and Spa — the image in front of Snoqualmie Falls is a panorama comprised of four vertical shots.

I had the distinct pleasure of second shooting for my second shooter over Valentine’s Day weekend. I’d been hoping to shoot at the Lake Union Cafe for a while now, so when Kevin asked, I jumped on it. I made up for missing Valentine’s Day to Jenny in advance by getting a sitter (my sister, woot), going to a nice dinner at Kristos, and spending a night at the Pan Pacific downtown. After the best night’s sleep in a year (it was our first night spent apart from our son, Justin, in close to a year), we had breakfast downstairs, and a surprise pedicure and spa treatment for Jenny before heading home.

I digress — Michelle and Przemek are totally in love, and I love that. They are, as you’ll see, very expressive in their love, which made for some impassioned and stirring moments.

Ava and Matt are two of the most humble and gracious people around, their presence assured and tender. They stole glances at each other throughout the day — it was very obvious that they were crazy in love. A smile from her would light up his face from across the room and vice-versa. Soul mates if I’ve ever seen a pair.

I had the privilege of documenting this beautiful wedding at the Edgewater Hotel in downtown Seattle for a good friend of mine, Siang of Lightphoria.
