sarah + kisung | salish lodge and spa | the album

Sarah and Kisung have become wonderful friends since we first met last spring. They are so full of heart and sincerity, and they’ve become another aunt and uncle to Justin. We had dinner with them a few weeks ago and they told us that were expecting a baby this summer — we, in turn, informed them that we were expecting a baby this autumn! We are surrounded by so much love — we have five dear sets friends that are all expecting this year, a few of which are due as early as next week! :)

I’m going to wear my heart on my sleeve a bit — I teared up more than once while I was putting this album together, especially through the ceremony photos. Hopeless romantic here.

dana + yossi | red rocks, nevada engagement session

My last day in Las Vegas, I was able to squeeze in a last minute engagement session thanks to my good friend, the amazing Shira Weinberger. WPPI 2010 Las Vegas | #theresnoplacelikehome

Caught up in the excitement, I bought a ticket to Las Vegas before I realized that I’d be missing my son’s second birthday on March 8. I sat uncomfortably on the fence about whether or not to go for almost two months, but my wife and I both new how important it was for me to connect face-to-face with many of the contacts that I had made over the past few years. This was my first trip to the WPPI convention, and it was nothing short of a life-changing experience. I made so many close friends in the blurred whirlwind that was my trip. Below, you’ll find some of the friends, colleagues and mentors that I had the pleasure and honor of getting to know. These are my people, and I love them dearly.

I am so grateful for my expecting wife, Jenny, for mustering the courage to send me away on a four-day trip while struggling with morning (all-day) sickness; and for Justin, who seems to have grown into a little man while I was away. I love, I love, I love you.

Off to Vegas! | WPPI 2010

My flight leaves in less than 6 hours. It’s past midnight, and I just finished packing for 4 day/3 night trip to Vegas to participate in WPPI 2010, an annual convention held by Wedding and Portrait Photographers International. I’ve got my moleskine and pens for lecture notes, strobist gear for a potential night shoot in the desert (fingers crossed!), a copy of Seth Godin’s Linchpin, and my herringbone jacket and tie for Airhorns + Lasers. I’m good to go!
